She was born in Fort Collins, Colorado the second of seven children born to Melville and Grace Hanna. She spent her childhood in the Eugene, Oregon area. She attended school at Thurston High School and met the love of her life Kenny Fox. They were married in 1938. In 1944 with two kids and one on the way, dad was called to serve the country in World War II. Mom served as well, taking care of three young kids until dad returned from the war. Two more children would follow. In 1956 mom and dad moved from Myrtle Creek, Oregon to Pasco, Washington to start a farm in the Columbia Basin. It was their shared dream to be farmers. Mom drove a tractor, changed sprinkler pipes, and always had a big garden. She also had all her household and motherly responsibilities. Her love of all animals was clearly shown to all her children. All kinds of animals undeniably sensed her caring nature. Many dogs, cats, cows, goats, horses, and even a pet chicken named Peep Peep would flock to her. In 1967 mom and dad moved to a loafer farm in Block 16 and dad built mom her big house overlooking the town lights. They were truly happy and proud. Mom always put everyone else’s needs before hers and always made sure you were fed what you liked, even if it meant fixing multiple meals. She was a truly loving mother to her children Patty (Paulino) Naffarate, Dick Fox (deceased), Bill (Sandy) Fox, Larry (Debi) Fox, and Mark (Jana) Fox. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents, her son Dick, her brothers Art, Donald, and Keith, her great grandson Joe. She is survived by her brothers Leroy and Patrick, her sister Donna, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four children, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren! The family would like to thank the staff at Tri Cities Retirement and Lourdes Hospital. Viewing will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM with the Rosary at 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM; all at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home at 1401 S. Union Avenue, Kennewick, Washington. Richard (Dick) H. Fox, age 74, died Tuesday morning, November 4th in Kennewick, Washington. He was born in Eugene, Oregon on September 17th, 1940 to Kenneth and Ellen Jean Fox. He spent his childhood making fond memories in Myrtle Creek, Oregon and later moved his senior year to the block farms of Pasco, Washington with his family. Some of his early employment were at Charlie Cox farm, a millwright at the dam, and at Chevron Chemical. In the late 1960's Dick began his lifelong career with the railroad. He worked his way from an entry level position at the railroad to being terminal superintendent when he retired in 1999. He stayed connected with his railroad family after retirement. He very much enjoyed his railroad career and the friendships that were begun lasted to the end.
Dick was a man of many passions. In his younger days he participated in many sports and was an avid outdoorsman. After high school he spent four years in the Air Force and became a radio operator. This allowed him the opportunity to travel the world. After retiring he loved gardening and vacationing. Dick was never sedentary and loved to live life. He enjoyed hitting the road for spontaneous unplanned adventures with the love of his life Susan and together they enjoyed camping, crabbing, casinos and visiting family and friends. He loved telling colorful stories and captivating his audience. He was a brilliant storyteller and loved making them roar. His booming voice will echo in our minds forever. Dick never knew a stranger.
Dick was a loving father to his children Shannon and Rick (Duke). He enjoyed family life very much and remained close to his family and extended family. Although Dick was a hard-working husband and father he loved spending as much time as possible in the company of friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Shannon (Rick) Viaene, son Rick (Jeannean) Fox, grandchildren Ally and Gabrielle Viaene, Mason and Mitchell Fox, mother Ellen Jean Fox, sister Patty (Paulino) Naffarati, brothers Bill (Sandy) Fox, Larry (Debi) Fox and Mark (Janna) Fox, mother-in law Phyllis Frey, stepchildren Rob (Bev) Pearson, Dina Pearson ( Brenda Stroud), Wendy (Mike) Sandman, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins whom will all miss him dearly.
His family wishes to express deep gratitude to all the loving skilled medical personnel at Swedish Medical Center, Tri-City cancer center, and Dr. Matharu, and the Tri-City Chaplaincy Hospice.
He was a very special part of our family and will always be remembered with love.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2014, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St., Kennewick.

- Major League Baseball Player. He attended the University of Oregon on a basketball scholarship for a year before signing as a pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds in 1943. His one winning season, 1950, came a year after his 6-19 mark made him the losingest pitcher in the Major Leagues that year. In December 1951 he was sent to the Philadelphia Phillies with catcher Smoky Burgess and second baseman Connie Ryan for catcher Andy Seminick, Eddie Pellagrini, Dick Sisler, and Niles Jordan (a deal that turned out to be very unpopular in Philadelphia). He appeared in 13 games for the Phillies, going 2-7. His last year in the Majors was 1954 when he appeared in 38 games, all in relief. After pitching in the Texas League in 1955, he was stabbed to death while bouncing three young men from the tavern he owned near San Antonio. In 248 Major League games he accrued a lifetime 43-72 Won-Loss record with 6 Saves and a 4.33 Earned Run Average.
